Grimm & Co
A book showcasing different poems written by students at the Astrea Academy illustrated by students at the University Centre Rotherham. This is a chance for Astrea Academy students to get their poems noticed by the public. This is also a great opportunity for us university students, who will be looking for jobs soon, to share our work with the public. It is always great to get the feedback of people, especially people you do not know, as it will be their honest opinion.
Grow It
A subscription box, filled with instructions, seeds and lolly sticks to help assist you in growing your own fruit and vegetables at home. This is an attempt to encourage more people to grow foods at home rather than spend money buying what they can grow. The contents of the box are all eco-friendly, as well as the materials created to make the box, to show how we can produce products using materials which are less likely to cause any harm to our planet. Earth is already suffering with climate change; we do not want to make the situation worse.
Think before you carry
An illustration to show the horrific impacts knife crime has on the world. Something that is on the news far too often and in the papers, too many lives being lost because of this crime, with the percentage reaching its peak in 2020, the highest it has been since 2010. However not everybody dies from a knife attack, but some do suffer permanent injuries because of it, which is something that I wanted to illustrate, but also be respectful towards anyone who may have been affected by this awful crime.

UKnighted Gaming
An illustration showing my vision for a brand new company. A gaming company which would have shops all over the UK, a website and an application for mobile devices and tablets, as well as public advertisements in the form of billboards, bus stop advertising etc. With lots of companies having been closed down over the last 10 years, I believe it is time for something new. Taking elements from gaming controllers, the approach for the logo of this company is not only simple, but professional also.
Dementia is…
A poster for a past show, which depicts the positives of having Dementia. With this being such an horrific illness, this illustration was handled with care and lots of thought and consideration. Looking back on personal experience. With this illustration, my focus was illustrating memory loss, but in a more positive way, such as remembering your best memories from your life (childhood) but forgetting more recent memories. I give my sister some credit for this idea, as she helped me with the story behind the illustration.
Fresher than Fresh
An advertisement for the fast food restaurant KFC. This illustration takes a more comical approach while also taking inspiration from mascots of other food chains such as McDonalds and Burger King. KFC has its own mascot in the form of American businessman Colonel Sanders, but my approach to this project is to see what the mascot could look like if we went for a more animated original character, like Ronald McDonald.
