The City
This work is from a module called ‘Graphic Image Making and Communication’, where the aim was to design and illustrate a series of 12 images that visualise the city of your choice. In my case, the City of Sheffield. That when viewed as a series, it enables viewers to identify with the city in a meaningful manner.
I decided to base my 12 images on Sheffield Poetry due to my visit to Sheffield for Primary Research enlightening me on underappreciated poetry displayed at the side of buildings. The only reason I noticed them was because I was going out of my way to find a theme that interested me about Sheffield.
Personally, I find it hard to read long pieces of text due to it appearing overwhelming and boring to me. I prefer visual elements to text or designs as it makes it easier to understand the main idea of something just by taking a quick look at it. I thought that by designing and painting my own takes on Sheffield poems, it would not only bring the poems themselves to life but the city as well. I believe as humans we are drawn to the visual aspects of life, therefore by doing this I am promoting Sheffield’s famous poems which are currently underappreciated.

Sustainable Packaging
The aim of this brief was to design a piece of subscription packaging around the emergency of climate change. It had to contain items that would help educate people in their day to day lives, therefore allowing customers to adopt a more eco lifestyle if they choose to.
My approach to this project was to educate customers about how to respect the world we live in as we purchase parcels online. I wanted to base my packaging on something I am ashamed of overusing and disposing a lot of waste from, which is perfume bottles and their packaging. This resulted in my idea of designing a reusable perfume bottle that comes with an essential oil in order for the customer to mix their own strength of perfume with a carrier oil. During this project I found out that the use of essential oils is both physically and mentally better for you than regular perfumes that contain Phthalates.
